Saturday 12 September 2020 - Over 65's Flu Vaccination Clinic Update

We are holding the first flu clinic of the season tomorrow – Saturday 12 September 2020, for patients aged 65 and over.

**VACCINATIONS WILL BE GIVEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY**

If driving, please drive carefully when you enter the car park and then follow the signs directing you to the Flu Clinic queue where one way system will be in operation.

When attending for your flu vaccination appointment, please:

  • Attend on your own unless you need help in mobilising.
  • Do not arrive early or late for your appointment time: we have allocated a strict number of patients per period to ensure that people are queueing for the minimum of time and social distancing is maintained.
  • Wear a face covering.
  • Do not touch anything in the practice. Bring your own hand sanitiser to use should you wish to.
  • Follow the instructions for queuing. The queue will be controlled to ensure social distancing.
  • Come prepared with an umbrella, if it is raining on the day, as the queue will be outside for a short period of time.
  • Speak to a member of staff, on arrival, if you feel you will not be able to stand whilst waiting for your appointment. For infection control purposes, there will be no chairs available whilst you are waiting or having the vaccination administered.
  • Wear clothing which makes it easy to expose your upper arm.
  • Do not attend if you or any members of your household have symptoms of coronavirus, or if you have been told to isolate. Contact us and we will rebook you when you are able to leave isolation.
  • Heed the instructions of the staff who are supervising the patient flow, they are there for your safety.

Thank you Wallingbrook Health Group.

Wallingbrook Health Group Flu Clinics Changes 2020

Due to the numerous changes, as a result of COVID-19, the suppliers have amended their vaccine delivery dates which have resulted in the practice amending this year’s clinic.

You may be aware that patients aged 65 and over receive a different vaccination to those under the age of 65.

The vaccination for the 65 and over age group will be delivered earlier than normal; therefore we will be scheduling our first flu clinic in September for the over 65 age group only, by appointment only.

The under 65 at risk group vaccine is expected at the beginning of October and invites will be sent to those patients accordingly

Once the nasal flu vaccination supplies have been confirmed for those in at clinical risk group aged under 18 and the not at risk group aged 2-3 years old, invites will be sent.

Over 65 flu vaccination invitations will be arriving via email or post from Wednesday 26 August 2020.  Please check your inbox and junk mail.

Appointments for the over 65 flu clinic will be available to book via SystmOnline. through the NHS app or by telephoning the Patient Services Team on 01769 580295
